ocr: Large coronal mass ejection (CME) from 6 November 1997, which originated from the site of a X-9.4 flare, approximately 30 degrees off the west limb. The image shown is a composite of an EIT Fe XII 195 EUV image of the Sun, and three nested images of the LASCO coronagraph system. The numerous bright points and streaks in the image are caused by high energetic (E>100 MeV) protons.
